Born in England, Noel Perkin (1893-1979) grew up in the Wesleyan Methodist Church and later identified with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1918, he served three years as a missionary in Argentina, and then pastored two churches in New York. was appointed missionary secretary for the Assemblies of God and served in that capacity from 1927 until his retirement in 1959. He exerted a profound influence on the development of AG world missions, helping to establish field representatives and mission stations in various parts of the globe. In his 32 years of leadership, he earned the nickname "Mr. Missions."
